    Location of Koh Samui

Koh Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand and is one of the famous islands on the Eastern coast of it. It is the second largest island of Thailand, Phuket being the first. Koh Samui is well-known for its stunning beaches, thick rainforests, and luxury resorts. Hence, it is the perfect holiday spot.

The Hidden Waterfalls in Koh Samui

In the lush green and thick jungles of Koh Samui lay wondrous waterfalls that need attention. They all are peaceful and enticing, and provide a leisurely escape to the island. The famous waterfalls include:

    1. Iconic Na Muang Waterfalls

The Na Muang Waterfalls 1 and 2 are the most famous ones in Koh Samui. They lie in the southeast of Nathon Bay 30 minutes away from each other. Na Muang Waterfall 1 is 59 feet above the surface level and is easy to reach with a brief jungle walk. As you reach here, a splendid view awaits. Water showers fall like a line of pearls and present a quick natural escape. The water cascades into a pool beneath this waterfall, hence, making it the perfect place to beat the heat by swimming. Tourists can also find multiple vendors with stalls of local food to enhance the hiking experience and spend quality time here.

If the visitors plan to bring their kids here, that will be worth the visit. It has a rock a few feet above the ground from where they can jump into the big and refreshing pool. After a cool swim, they can just sit on the rocks and enjoy Pad Thai with their family.  The Na Muang Waterfall 2 is quite a distance from the 1. The trek to it is also a bit rocky. It has a 265-foot-high cascade that impresses the guests. They like to click photographs with it and also enjoy a good dive in its pool. Near this gigantic waterfall lies an elephant trekking tour and Namuang Safari Park to add more to the hiking trip.

    2. Hin Lad Waterfalls

Hin Lad Waterfall lies in the heart of Koh Samui’s jungle in the west. People mostly visit Na Muang waterfalls which make this a hidden gem among the thick forests. Reaching here is very peaceful. The hiking track is well-marked with necessary route instructions and takes 30 minutes to reach. You will come across little streaks of streams as well on the way. Catch a breath there and resume the hike. Throughout the whole passage, bird chirps accompany the tourists. Palm trees take their part too and rustle their leaves hence, creating a symphony to make the hike enjoyable. All this rocky hike is worth it in the end. A three-tiered cascade welcomes the guests and creates a scenic view to soothe the eyes. Here, the water makes its way over the rocks and falls below to make it a perfect pool for travelers. They can enjoy a good bath and relieve themselves of the tiredness of the hike.

Moreover, the waterfalls are surrounded by natural rock structures and thick green trees that make the air soothing. Visitors can lay back and enjoy the cool atmosphere after the bath. They can capture the moments and relish them on the way back home. The Hin Lad Waterfall is the ideal spot to enjoy weekends and plan family vacations. People can bring food and other items here but with the utmost care due to the bumpy track. However, some vendors also sell delicious Thai food to keep the guests entertained.

    3. Tar Nim Waterfall

Tar Nim Waterfall hides in the hills of Koh Samui. Statues and sculptures surround this peaceful garden and a cascade passes through the depths. Mossy rocks surround the waterfall and give it the look of a green wonderland. The feel of this waterfall is mystical. Stone oaths, little bridges, and various rock structures lay in the area making it more like a hidden oasis for catching peaceful moments. To reach here, all you need is to hike up the hills and reach the garden. The path can become a bit challenging in some places but after reaching Tar Nim, the efforts count. The mystic atmosphere of the garden and waterfall both mix up to transport the traveler into another world.
